ARSHIYA offers the first in a series of breakfasts with investors and entrepreneurs to discuss creative and cultured enterprise. Our discussions will touch on the funding concerns of new start-ups and broader aspects of Silicon Valley culture. Entrepreneurs are invited to discuss their start-ups and their concerns in small, cordial groups over breakfast and receive feedback from guests.

JOHN VAN DYKE and BRIAN FRENZEL will be our first honored Angel guests.
As a leading Silicon Valley Angel investing in over 60 new businesses, John Van Dyke offers outstanding perspectives on start-up issues. Currently, he is President of Voice Access Technologies. John is a member of the Band of Angels, among the Valley’s earliest angel groups. He co-founded Chicago's (as in University of) Tech-Venture Club, and encourages hundreds of Chicago's students to pursue start-up endeavor in the Bay Area. As a noted participant in Silicon Valley start-ups, he serves on several Boards of Directors. He leads an international business efficiently delivering safe water to major facilities as Principal of Dakota Water Systems. He is an avid art collector.

Mr. Frenzel is an active angel investor and founder and advisor to biomedical and high technology companies. He serves on the boards of directors and the management advisory boards of several private companies and non-profit organizations. His management experience includes co-founding and serving as a senior executive at Centaur Pharmaceuticals, a neurodegenerative disease pharmaceutical discovery and development company, Vesta Medical, a medical device company, and Genelabs Technologies, a biotechnology company. Prior to entering the startup company arena, Mr. Frenzel was the Director of Corporate Planning at Syntex Corporation and a Principal at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Frenzel holds a BS in physics and an MBA from Stanford University.


The breakfast will be held January 26 at Hugo's at Rickey's Hyatt at Palo Alto. It will start at 7:30 am and finish at 9:00 am. Attendance is limited to the first 20 registrants.
